Knowledge Transfer to tackle the FOG

(Fats, Oils and Grease)

WRc help WaSC reduce sewer blockages, delivered by efficient knowledge transfer on food establishment waste disposal practices.


WRc has long been at the forefront of testing, analysis and treatment of Fats Oils and Greases and discovering the affect that they have on the UK water network.  WRc has been working with a Water and Sewerage company to provide their Environmental Compliance team with the skills and technical instruction to better engage with food service establishments to advise on their FOG disposal.

WRc Infrastructure  completes successful  PipeDiver® survey for Scottish Water

Scottish Water engaged framework supplier WRc, to provide a means of gathering valuable asset condition information on a 15km strategic section of 30”  pre-stressed concrete trunk main. Central to the delivery of this project was the need to overcome the challenge of gathering the required condition information whilst maintaining full operability of the pipeline.

We help accelerate the uptake and invention of water technology, to meet the challenge of the global water crisis.


This month Venturi is focusing on water efficiency and its importance in reducing daily water use per capita.

WRc and Southern Water on the BBC

WRc's Infrastructure team have a wide range of technologies to help tackle utility company leakage problems. In May BBC South East came to the Swindon site to discover how SmartBall is being used by Southern Water to detect leakage across their network.
