WRc, the Innovation Consultancy in Water, Waste and Gas, has recently delivered its updated meter training course to a major UK water company. WRc provides the only metering course aimed specifically at clean water measurement – covering the types of meters used by the industry and the way they are used – from source to tap. As an independent organisation, WRc is fully conversant with the different technologies, the regulations and the requirements of water companies.
Changes in the industry from the new Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODI’s) targeting further reductions in leakage, opening of the retail market for non-household customers in 2017, the adoption of smart network tools and the increased use of new technologies such as AMR (radio read meters) means that it is ever more important that the meter data on which the industry relies is accurate and reliable.
Andy Godley, Senior Consultant at WRc comments “To get reliable data, interpret and use it effectively means that those selecting and using meters or working with metered data need to be fully conversant with the principles of metering, the types of meters available and their benefits and limitations. Our updated course can be delivered in specific modules targeted as those involved in strategic metering, network metering or revenue metering, or as our new integrated package covering clean water metering from source to tap.
