WRc offer a 2 day training course on Essentials for Managing Drain Repair , WRc Swindon (5 & 6 March 2013)

December 10, 2012 Categories: Events

A two-day Essential for Managing Drain Repair course took place on 5th & 6th March 2013 at WRc offices in Swindon. The aim of the course was to improve understanding of the cost-effective use of this key maintenance discipline. It examined the investigation and repair of domestic and light industrial drains and identify the key decisions for selecting appropriate repair techniques.

The course has recently received Energy and Utility Skills accreditation providing each successful delegate with an officially recognised certificate to show their professional competency in Drain Repair Management. Each delegate will also be registered on the EU Skills Register of Professional Training.

Delegates received a copy of the 3rd edition of the Drain Repair book published in 2012, which both updates and adds content to the 2005 edition, in keeping with the Drainage Forum's desire for it to be a 'living document'. Changes have been made in response to the significant change in legislation covering drains and sewers in the Transfer of Private Sewers and Lateral Drains in October 2011.

Further changes have also been made to reflect users’ comments and particularly feedback received from past delegates of the course. These changes include additional illustrations of drain ownership and responsibility, pipe condition and serviceability, extension of the techniques to include patch repairs, clarification of lining specification requirements, the legal aspects of drain repair and the inspection of treatment facilities including septic tanks and for the first time, small package treatment plant.

Price: £680.00 + VAT (includes EUSR registration and a copy of the Drain Repair Book, 3rd Edition)
