Last week, on the 23rd of January, WRc hosted a meeting of one of its water industry technical knowledge groups – the Disinfection Forum. This Forum, running since 2010, provides water companies with a platform to review and discuss emerging issues, research developments, technological innovations and regulatory perspectives on all aspects of disinfection and microbiological safety of water.
Last week's meeting was focused on the technological advancements in the field of membrane technologies and UV treatment and was attended by experts from 11 UK water companies, working in areas of process science and engineering, public health, risk management and disinfection. Excellent presentations were delivered by speakers Chris Rockey (South West Water), Barry Hopton (ATG UV Technology), and Abraham Negaresh and David Shepherd (both from WRc).
