Waste characterisation provides the cornerstone of waste strategy development and compliance with regulation.
The Waste and Resource Management team offer routine environmental permit compliance monitoring, bespoke R&D and consultancy to our clients. Our in-house laboratories have supported testing and consultancy services to the waste industry and regulators for over 30 years and we have the only laboratory accredited to UKAS for biodegradability testing of wastes.
The team has hands-on experience of designing and conducting sampling and testing programmes for process wastes and treatment residues. WRc has recognised experts in data interrogation and interpretation. We get best value from the historic data resource and, for many of our clients, help them to keep on top of generating and interpreting waste characterisation data. We also use the this knowledge to review treatment technologies, recommend process improvements, revise current monitoring programmes and maximise the value from secondary products. WRc routinely undertakes assessments to determine the hazard status of wastes and to evaluate risks associated with a waste product or resource throughout its life cycle.
