The EU Environmental Technology Verification (EU-ETV) Scheme is a new tool that helps innovative environmental technologies enter the market quicker, by independently verifying the technology’s performance claims. With proof of performance credibly assured, innovations can expect an easier market access and/or a larger market share.
The UK’s Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) bodies (WRc, NPL and BRE) hosted a workshop aimed at raising awareness of the EU Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) scheme - a programme to help innovative environmental technology companies enter the market more successfully by independently verifying the specific performance claims of their new technology.
The one day workshop was held at WRc’s offices in Swindon on Wednesday 7 October 2015. The event was free to attend but registration was essential.
The workshop was aimed at SMEs in the low carbon technology sector but open to anyone with an interest in verification.
The agenda focused on understanding the benefits of the EU ETV scheme, including a breakdown of what it entails, which technologies are eligible, examples of current technologies undergoing ETV, and how to obtain verification. This was followed by a panel discussion and a networking session for those that wished to discuss their technology with one of the verification bodies present (BRE Global, WRc plc, or NPL).
