We cover all aspects of water and wastewater treatment covering training and capacity building conceptual design for asset planning, operational optimization and guidance and compliance and technology scanning and evaluations. - Microbiological Training. Duration: 2 days
This is an interactive 2 day training module suitable for operators, process scientist and lab technicians. Production of training material as a PowerPoint presentation for delivery and preparation of a training module booklet to provide further information and reference sources is included. Training module content can be ﬂexible and agreed after close consultation with the client but will include the regulatory context, drinking water and health, pathogens, effects of water treatment and managing water quality in distribution systems.
- General Water Treatment
The training module is based around the most common water treatment processes of coagulation, clariﬁcation, ﬁltration and granular activated carbon (GAC) adsorption, and practices and techniques for optimising these are presented. The training module also provides an understanding of ways in which additional processes such as ozonation, powdered activated carbon (PAC) adsorption, biological ﬁltration and ultraviolet (UV) irradiation can be used to enhance and optimise overall treatment performance, and identify where this can be cost-effective.
- OTTER Process Modelling. Duration: 1 day
- Introduction to using computer modelling tools for the assessment of water works performance. WRc’s program, OTTER, will be used, and participants will each have a copy to take away. The training module will last one day, focusing on RGFs, and will discuss general principles that will be applicable to other modelling tools, as well as speciﬁcs of OTTER implementation.
- STOAT Process Modelling. Duration: 1 day
Introduction to using computer modelling tools for the assessment of sewage treatment works performance. WRc’s program, STOAT, will be used, and participants will each have a copy to take away. The training module will last one day, focusing on activated sludge, and will discuss general principles that will be applicable to other modelling tools, as well as speciﬁcs of STOAT implementation.
