WRc has recently been appointed to several new frameworks that support European chemical regulation. These include frameworks to provide scientific support, information and knowledge management and help to standardise toxicological databases for the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), as well as specific help for the regulator in the Netherlands (RIVM).
This work also puts WRc in a good position to assist industrial clients to meet their REACH obligations, where registrations for substances in the 100-1000 tonne band are required by May 2013. With the sheer volume of data required by ECHA on physico-chemical properties, environmental fate and behaviour, and mammalian and ecotoxicity of chemicals, WRc is providing a Data Gap Analysis service to identify/confirm where new data is required to allow best practise in satisfying the regulation.
