WRc have laboratory, pilot-plant and test rig areas which we use to measure, design, develop and evaluate processes and equipment for sewers, wastewater and sludge operations. These are often linked to in house mechanical, electrical and electronic workshop capabilities, which range from individual instrument evaluations to construction of plant for on-site use or in containers for off-site and customer use.

Recent and current example projects are:

  • Solids transport in sewer testing;
  • Flushable products disintegration;
  • Hydrodynamic separator performance testing;
  • Influence of structural features in sewers on hydraulic performance.

We have capabilities using flow rigs to examine individual components for processing or measuring efficiencies and their influence on sewage transport. These include capability to install full-size sewer pipes underground and measure resistance to deformation, and to install separators and determine efficiencies.

We use laboratory and pilot-plant to measure effects of substances in sewage, and microscopic inspection of samples, including linkage to site operational evaluation or guidance.

We offer abilities to mix practical measurements using existing or new analytical devices, with our well developed skills and understanding of full-scale needs in sewage and wastewater processes.
