WRc is working for the DWI to provide a critical appraisal of guidance for on-line monitor performance data that maybe used for compliance rather than “grab” sampling and analysis.
The project will gather data on the use and performance of on-line monitoring of water after treatment, and carry out an appraisal of current DWI guidance in light of that information. This will enable the DWI to decide whether changes to the guidance could encourage the use of on-line data without compromise to regulation.
Project work is well under way and WRc is holding a workshop on 26th July for instrumentation, regulation and water quality staff from water companies in England and Wales. At the workshop delegates will discuss key issues relating to on-line compliance and how water companies can be involved in the work.
