WRc are driving an initiative to look at pesticides and water. As part of this initiative, which involves a cross-cutting, multidisciplinary expert group within WRc, a series of projects are being developed under a ‘pesticides’ banner. In particular, WRc seeks to foster integration between the users and manufacturers of pesticides and those maintaining wholesome water supplies, and as such, a forum will be established, inviting these groups to discuss their challenges and needs. Such projects may include; seeking the next metaldehyde, monitoring strategies, validating novel monitoring technologies, mapping pesticide occurrence based on seasonality of use, treatment efficiencies, and a structure for local application information exchange.
