Looking after our environment
Concern for the environment is an integral part of WRc's business strategy, and a large portion of our business is related to environmental protection and the provision of sustainable solutions. Our Environmental Policy Statement.can be found here.
We are committed to minimising the impact of our business on the prevention of pollution, and have identified the following areas to focus our efforts on to reduce our impact:
- Energy use
- Water use and wastewater generation
- Business travel
- Waste generation and disposal
- Chemical use
To help us achieve our environmental objectives we implemented an environmental management system across the company which was certified BS EN ISO 14001:2004 in 2009 by National Quality Assurance Ltd. We have an Environmental Management Committee which meets regularly to review progress against our targets, suggest improvements and increase awareness of the policy.
