With huge pressures on water companies to reduce expenditure they and their supply chain need to increase efficiency, improve best practice and reduce costs. Innovation being key to achieving this, WRc can provide services to assist with the development and introduction of new and efficient technology and improved practices.
WRc can use its extensive knowledge of the UK and International Water Industry to work with companies in the developing of new and novel products and services, and assist with their development and introduction to market. For novel products we can develop appropriate performance requirements to demonstrate ‘fitness-for-purpose’.
We can undertake product testing, e.g. hydrostatic (leaktightness/infiltration/exfiltration), jetting resistance, underground loading trials.
Our key areas of expertise include:
- Installation and rehabilitation of underground assets
- Pipelines (including materials, fittings, leaktightness, commissioning, failure analysis, coatings)
- Geocellular and arched chamber SUDS
- Sewer renovation design checking
WRc has recently been conducting collaborative research projects with water and gas companies, manufacturers and contractors on:
