Our Business

As an innovative, technology-based consultancy, the WRc Group is driven by providing results for its customers. Some key benefits of working with WRc include:

  • Turning research and consultancy into results - Our agenda is to produce outputs that are practical and of real value to our clients.   We focus on implementation, which includes bespoke training and benchmarking best practise.
  • Providing innovative solutions to new and unusual challenges.
  • Linking policy and standards with implementation.  WRc’s policy specialists monitor legislative developments and work with policy makers to provide scientific advice and data needed to develop new regulation. We employ operational experts who understand the drivers and guide cost effective implementation.

  • Bringing the team together - Being a long-established business with a huge collective knowledge and network of contacts, WRc brings the right team together to address complex problems. WRc has staff with multi-disciplinary skills in engineering, science, IT, environmental, social and financial fields. WRc also acts as a broker, bringing consortia together to access additional funds. We manage the £1,500,000 Portfolio collaborative research programme bringing funders together to leverage budgets and experience.
  • Practical facilities on site - WRc has potable water, wastewater and waste facilities enhancing our practical work including: pilot plants, laboratories, workshops, flow loops, instrument testing rigs and the largest underground testing bed in the UK.
  • Legal services - As an independent company, with industry specialists working on issues ranging from sewer flooding and odours through to waste and resource management, diffuse pollution and process or pipeline failures, WRc is well placed to prepare technical evidence for court and to undertake expert witness work.
