Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive

WRc and Umweltbundesamt GmbH (UBA, Austria) have been reappointed by the European Commission DG Environment to provide technical support for the implementation of the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (UWWTD) for the next three years.

The long standing collaboration between WRc and UBA has provided specialist support for implementation of this Directive under contract since 2002. Experts from WRc and UBA will assist the Commission in the technical evaluation of evidence for infringement cases against Member States, information gathering to better understand aspects of UWWTD implementation in Member States and the compliance checking of information provided to the Commission against the legal requirements of the Directive.
