Guidance for Laying Pipelines in Brownfield Sites

WRc has been awarded a project by UKWIR to develop guidance for use by Developers, Self-Lay Organisations, Water Undertakers and consultants when planning, designing and constructing water mains and services in brownfield sites. The water industry wish to focus this guidance on ensuring that the correct pipe materials and components are selected to protect the quality of drinking water. WRc and WRc-NSF will draw on its knowledge of dealing with contaminated sites, product performance and testing and drinking water standards. The guidance will be used by a wide range of users and WRc's experience of drafting guidance for the water and waste industry, and the building sector is key to developing a user friendly guide.
