WRc awarded contract to develop a GIS SIMCAT model for the River Trent catchment

River Trent

WRc has been awarded a contract by Severn Trent Water to develop a new GIS SIMCAT model for the River Trent Catchment. The model will be developed with the support of the Environment Agency. The study follows on from an earlier study, funded by the Environment Agency, to develop a similar model for the River Severn Catchment. Both models will be used by Severn Trent Water and the Environment Agency as  key water quality modelling tools to develop Water Framework Directive River Basin Management plans for these major catchments, controlling point source discharges and diffuse pollution for AMP5 and beyond.
