| WRc wins 7th Year of support to the Commission for Water Framework Directive implementation
 Since 2004, WRc has been the European Commission’s main contractor for support in the development and practical implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) through the Common Implementation Strategy (CIS). WRc leads a consortium of European experts and institutions to provide the necessary expertise to cover all EU 27 Member States and the 23 official languages of the EU.
Ruth Cullingford, the Project Manager at WRc says “We are delighted to continue working with the European Commission and the consortium. We have a strong team of very skilled people at WRc, with an excellent track record”.
As a highly respected and independent business, WRc is in an excellent position to assist and guide the consortium in providing the European Commission with impartial and independent advice to support the implementation of the Water Framework Directive and Floods Directive. Specific tasks include the checking of the Member States’ compliance with these Directives, and the provision of assistance in the development of the Water Information System for Europe (WISE).
