WRc appointed to CLG Water Management Framework as part of consortium.

 

The Building Division in Communities and Local Government (CLG) has appointed WRc to the 5 year Water Managment Framework as part of a consortium with CIRIA, HR Wallingford, BSRIA, MWH Global, Exeter University & Black & Veatch.

This follows on from the previous framework called Sanitationwhere WRc worked alongside CLG in:

  • Reviewing Part G of the Building Regulations – Sanitation including the development of impact assessments to assessment the costs and benefits of any proposed changes,
  • The development of a Code of practice for building over Private Sewers for use by local authorities and the development of Guidance for Private Sewers for owners of private sewers and local authorities.
  • Improving the flood resilience of buildings through improved materials methods and details 
  •  Reducing water consumption in buildings
  • Developing assessment tools for infiltration rates
  • Supporting the preparation of Standards Support - representation on British and European Standards committees
    for CLG.
  • Peer Reviewing of the Code for Sustainable Homes
  • Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG)
  • Analysis of consultation responses for water efficiency in new and existing buildings.

WRc are currently working with CLG to revise and implement Part G of the Building Regulations. We will be holding five
one-day workshops in the summer to explain the changes
